Timothy J. Rausch, 57, of Delhi, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday morning, Oct. 11, 2022, with his mom and Sandy by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born Aug. 16, 1965 in Delhi, Timothy was the son of Charles and Lois (Constable) Rausch.

He was a 1983 graduate of Walton Central School. Tim was an avid reader, especially local history, and a jack of all trades. In his earlier years he enjoyed snowmobiling, trapping, hunting and fishing, and working with animals on several area farms. He later put in hay for and attended to his 36 goats, three Herefords and two sheep. He also like to hike different trails, berry picking, snowshoeing and right up to this past year was maple sugaring. Tim also was a talented carpenter, rebuilding and updating his own home from the ground up. He was a dedicated gardener, always having a beautiful garden with not a weed in sight.

Tim enjoyed Music on the Delaware concerts and bluegrass concerts, the Delaware County Fair, antiquing, garage sales, and the antique machinery at Gas Up in Gallopville every year.

Tim appreciated hard work and he had an “old fashioned” work ethic. Besides farm work when he was younger, Tim worked for local sawmills including Ken Pawlikowski’s. He also worked for Ron Mullenix Surveying, as a delivery driver for Webb and Sons and later, he became a certified wastewater treatment plant operator in Walton and Hobart.

Tim was predeceased by his father Charles; nephew Travis Rausch; maternal grandparents Fred and Florence Constable and paternal grandparents Miles and Anna Rausch.

He is survived by his companion Sandy Craft of Delhi; mother Lois Rausch of Walton; sister Florence Heller of Otego, brothers Charlie Rausch of Walton and David (Cindy) Rausch of Hamden; nieces and nephews Tina (Rob), Chris, Brian, JT, Kyle, Rachel (John), Olivia and Kait.

At Tim’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral service; private burial will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.
