Walton’s second grade Cupcake Wars

WALTON - Walton Central School’s second grade held its ninth annual Cupcake Wars Monday, June 24.

Competing students submitted six cupcakes for guest judges to sample. Cupcakes were judged in categories including: best tasting, best presentation, and most creative flavor.

Rules were the cupcakes had to be homemade and the student had to do the majority of the work.

The competition was a fun way to learn. Students read a recipe, measured ingredients, made a plan, and got creative.

Best Presentation - Haddie Bowker

Best Tasting - Stella Hanley with Pretty Pink

Most Creative Flavor - Sabrina Lindsey with Marshmallow cupcake

Best presentation - Laurel Wood with Ice Cream Splat

Mrs. Ammon’s class

Best Tasting - Keelyn Budine with her Kampfire Karamel Kupcakes

Most Creative Flavor - Gannon McGraw with lemon spaghetti and meatballs

Best Presentation - Nora Kellogg with her “Beaching Bears”
